✅ PERFECT FOR DRAFTING, PLANS, BLUEPRINTS, FOR DIY WOODWORKING + BUILDING

Ever since getting into the hobby of commissioned wood working, I never really bothered to sketch any plans, drafts, or blueprints, out. But the more commissioned projects that I accepted, the more it became apparent that I needed to be doing exactly this. Because I have limited space in my garage, I don't exactly have a working bench or surface that would allow me to sit down and concentrate on sketching so this was perfect for portability and usability in my limited space.✅ QUALITY: this feels very solid. durable, and stable. all the sliders. clamps and rulers are made very well, all the print on the measurements is clear and the back board surface itself feels very even and smooth. i feel like this would hold up for a long time with regular usage, along with all the moving parts as long as it's not abused or misused.✅ CLAMPS + CLAMPS: this has clamps literally everywhere. there are clamps to hold the paper down and even. there are clamps to lock the rulers in place, there are also clamps to move the rulers as well. i love that the rulers are detachable. be cause sometimes i just want them out of my way when im not using them, and sometimes they need to be set at a specific angle or degree that is not accessible with them attached. but the clamps are always helpful.✅ PORTABILITY: best part of this is that i can take it virtually anywhere. it's small enough that i could probably slip it inside of a briefcase or duffle bag but still big enough to hold a standard size sheet of printing paper. i don't have to be a specific place to use it and i can use it on the go. when traveling or going from work site to work site.❌ PRICEY: downfall is the current price. for what it is, i wouldnt call it a professional drafting board. this would be great for young adults that are beginning to get into drafting and planning. but for the size and materials. plus quality and price, i definitely do not believe it's worth the price when you can get something much nicer, bigger, with better tools, and quality materials for the same price if not five to ten dollars more.◼ OVERALL RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ FOUR STARS ————————————————♡📌⤑ IN SUMMARY: while this board is okay, functional, easy to use and has most of the components and pieces that you would need to construct and create a successful and nice looking draft/plan, for the price of this, you would definitely expect something nicer and higher quality. it's not awful. but it's far from the best. the hard plastic backing works great as a clipboard with firm clamps to hold the paper in place and the rulers lock into place as well. but there could be more pieces, rulers, and levels that would elevate this. this is great for young adults or teens that are just starting, or for smaller projects around the house. it's still functional and useful but not for huge. major builds, or elaborate plans. ♡

Great concept, but has some issues with execution

I'm really torn as to how to rate this drafting board. I love the fact that it's a small board that gives you a lot of drafting capabilities without having to have all the bulky equipment usually associated with it. I like the fact that it is portable so I can move my whole project somewhere else when I need to use my desk. It actually has a lot of good features between the moveable/lockable straight edge and the 45 triangle with tons of measurements for length and angles. So if you currently have no capabilities for this kind of thing, it can be really useful. That said, there were just a number of things that made it hard to rate it any higher. First, it arrived looking like it had been built/stored in a barn. It was covered in dust and debris so that I had to spend 10 minutes wiping down the surface and all the tracks to make sure I wasn't going to be scratching the surface. They included a mechanism to hold the paper on the left edge, but the part to hold the right edge is 12.5 inches away from the left edge so unless you're using 13"+ paper, you have to use tape to hold down your corners. The straight edge has pair of buttons to lock it into place when using the triangle, but the function doesn't really make any sense. On the left edge is label that says "Press & Lock" but that actually doesn't lock it. You have to release the big yellow button, which is spring loaded, to actually lock the straight edge in place. When not locked, the straight edge is still kind of hard to move and you have to push it where it fits in the track to get it to move smoothly. Having spent a lot of time drafting over the years I can make it work, but if you're new then it might be difficult to use. In general the finish on everything is just not great. The bottom edge looks all chewed up like maybe they cut off some rough spots by hand.So overall, if you don't have these capabilities, it might be worth the money, but just be aware you aren't going to have a polished professional set up for this price.

    This works for me

I wasn't expecting a top-of-the-line drafting board when I ordered this, but I am very happy with what I got. I place this on my drawing table and secure it in place with a couple of clamps. The size of the work area is large enough for my projects. I use it for some basic perspective drawing. This helps me establish everything I need to on the page, so my work looks correct. I am not trying to use this for architectural level work. For that, I would want something more substantial. Some have mentioned a slight dimple in the center of the "board" left in the plastic by the manufacturing. On mine, I can see this, but it is so slight it doesn't get in my way. I also use a double or triple Bristol stock for most of what I am doing on this board so I wouldn't have such worries, but a very thin paper might.

    Good tool for simple drawings

Ordered this small drafting table to improve planning of my home remodeling projects and repairs. A hand sketch may be adequate to do simple projects, but making drawings to scale is practically required for more complex jobs. It reduces unexpected surprises with layout, dimensions or tolerances. This table is lightweight. You can easily carry it around the house to do your drawings. The ruler and protractor included are adequate. Clamps sometimes allow slippage. An adjustable T square is not included and would simplify drawing angles other than 45 degrees. The 12"x16" work area is fine for drawing on letter size (8.5x11"/ ANSI A) and A4 paper (210x297mm/ 8.3x11.7"). Tabloid size (11x17"/ ANSI B) and A3 paper (297x420mm/ 11.7x16.5") may fit, but the 16" ruler won't have full reach. Manufacturer should consider slightly increasing work area and rulers to fully support those.Overall, this portable drafting table is a good tool for simple drawings of personal projects. It is not designed for doing contract work or customer projects.
