Around and around we go
I hadn’t thought this through. Of course this filler came in a vacuum-packed bag, I just didn’t expect it. I ordered a pouf months ago despite not having filler. I didn’t want to pass it up since its shape and color were the only shape and color pouf that I liked.I put it in a closet and forgot about it. Pawing through that closet a couple months ago I discovered it and made up my mind to stuff it. Then I priced the filler and decided that was ridiculous for left over, shredded mattress material. I forgot it again.Finally, just a couple weeks ago I found it once more and didn’t waste time. I ordered this filler as soon as I saw it. Now, of course, I find that, while this is only 3 pounds, I will need 5 or 6 pounds.I went back on line and ordered another 3 pounds. Then, I decided that I didn't want to wait around again in case 6 pounds wasn’t quite enough to fill it as tightly as I wanted, so I ordered another 1 and ½ pound. At this point, I'm getting dizzy.I decided not to open this filler until the pouf and all 3 pouf filler packages were in front of me.

Quality memory foam. ~2-second rebound. Low smell dissipates during expansion. Fills ~ (2), 12x20s
The shredded memory foam filler arrived in a tight, nearly a 1" thick rectangular sheet, very strongly vacuum packed and then wrapped tight in a clean cellophane. Once unwrapped, I cut across the top of the thick, vacuum sealed bag. I wasn't sure what to expect but air slowly leaked in and as I opened the bag a little at the top, the foam slowly began to expand as it slowly worked free at the edge from the tight mass of foam with agitation. The listing points out in the lower set of pics that the color may vary. I received a lighter shade of blue than the listing's main pics and am happy with that (see pics in different light). The foam is ~1" long pieces of rectangular shaped cubes. Even right after opening this tightly concentrated sheet of foam, the smell within the opened bag directly at my nose was not near as intense as I had anticipated. The level of odor was low (possibly dye and/or foam related), and I felt confident it would further subside once it had time to breathe and be in the open air. This foam appears to indeed be a quality, OEKO-TEX material foam. I was removing it and placing it into a thin pillowcase that I am using to put in a 12"x20" lumbar pillow until I get some pillow cover insert liners that hold the fill. This pillowcase requires being folded over and doesn't zip so there will be shifting and bunching. I went ahead and put in a significant amount into the 12"x20" linen pillow cover (filled rather tight) without giving the foam the suggested 24-48 hour wait for full expansion (see pics). The pillow, even without the foam getting the proper 1–2-day expansion time, was firmly cushioned with a full rebound after about two seconds. I then removed the liner pillowcase from the cover to ensure the foam can fully expand, whatever may remain, to then put into an actual zippered liner when I get them. This will also give what little smell is on the foam some time to air out and dissipate. As it finishes expanding and airing within the pillowcase, I demonstrated the memory foam's rebound in a very loosely filled pillowcase (see video). This is indeed actual 'memory' foam and performs as such. Based on the foam weight I had used in my 12"x20" pillow (which is 11"x19" in actuality), and its extra firm fill, the 3-pound bag would probably be enough to fill two of my 11"x19" pillows at a medium-firm firmness. I am pleased with this quality fill and how it performs. I think it is a good value for what this 3-pound bag will fill.

I got the 3-pound bag of shredded memory foam to top off a few bean bags, and it worked out better than I expected.It comes shipped very flat, as seen in the photo. Once cut open and allowed to expand, there’s a lot of material—definitely enough to make a noticeable difference. The bag just keeps going like I swear it never ends.The foam itself is more on the firm side compared to typical memory foam, but it still has that nice give so it doesn’t feel stiff or uncomfortable. Squishy and comfortable!
If you have a sagging bean bag or a couch cushion that has lost its "oomph," this shredded memory foam is a lifesaver. Unlike the noisy foam "beans," this shredded foam is silent and much more comfortable. It’s very dense, so a little goes a long way in terms of providing support. I used it to refluff a favorite chair, and it feels like new again. Just a heads up: it comes compressed, so give it about an hour to fully expand before you judge the volume. It’s a much more durable and comfy filling than standard beads.
