Assembly Instructions Not Thorough

Great stool for my workshop. Comfortable. Rugged. Sturdy. Inexpensive. Looks nice.As for the assembly, how hard can it be? 9 nuts and bolts. That's it. (Actually, no, it's not!)When you put the legs together be sure to tighten them all BEFORE you attach the rotating bearing plate. The rotating plate actually covers the bolt at the top. I had to go back and remove the plate to tighten that bolt. When you put the rotating bearing plate on, be sure to turn the top plate enough to where you can slip the bolts into the bottom plate. Then tighten them to the legs. This next part is NOT in the instructions. At this point, all of the hardware has been used and you're left with the seat cushion in one hand and the assembled legs and base (rotating bearing plate) in the other. But NO MORE BOLTS!You must now unscrew the four screws from the bottom of the seat cushion and slip them through the holes in the top plate and screw them back into the seat cushion. In other words, attach the rotation bearing plate to the seat cushion using the four screws already in the seat cushion.IF the instructions were clearer this thing would be a cinch to assemble. 9 nuts and bolts and 4 screws. The product itself is great. However, I did spray some WD-40 into the rotating bearing plate just to make sure.Yes, I'd definitely buy this again.

Nice product

This is a nice sturdy stool. Extremely easy to assemble, honestly not sure why instructions were even included (BTW, there's a video in the product pictures!!!) Nice thick padding, swivel mount is exactly the same as commercially available boat seat swivels. I just ordered another and assembled it in less than 10 minutes. Alot of whining on these stools, they are $50. If it's too tall for you take a hacksaw, sawzall or grinder and shorten the legs, stick the feet back on. If it wobbles (as mine both did) pull off the feet, add a few 3/8" washers here and there, put the feet back on. If you aren't mechanically inclined, don't buy things that require assembly. These stools were not rocket science to assemble. They are comfortable and sturdy enough to use as a self defense weapon if the need ever arrives!

Sturdy stool at a good price, some concerns but overall it seems like a nice stool

I got this from Amazon warehouse returns, it appeared new and I saved a good chunk of money. I give it a 4 start for value/quality, this is relative to the cost so keep that in mind. The one I received had a black seat, no logo printed on it.It came in an OEM box and required about 5-10 minutes of basic assembly. The parts are reasonably durable looking and the chair looks like it will hold up well. I think they could have done a better job with the fasteners, they are a bit long and could snag on your legs.I'm 5'8" and this still is a bit tall for me, I have to put my feet on the foot ring, they don't quite reach the ground. I may cut an inch or two off the legs. This is of course subjective, no flaw of the stool. It came with a warning that it contains chemicals know to CA to cause cancer, I'm a bit concerned about this, do all Chinese stools like this contain these chemicals yet most don't have the sticker, or does this chair pose a particular risk??? This is a little sketchy, could I be affected by sitting on it normally or would I have to actually put my mouth on the fart diffuser (aka: seat pad)? The seat pad is fairly thick, about 3 inches although it's pretty cheap foam, it compresses fairly easily and I'm not sure how long it is going go hold up, I do wish they had used a better quality foam in the pad. It isn't terrible and at this price point it may be suitable but could be better. The vinyl seat cover seems pretty decent. The swivel works well and the stool is over all sturdy.I got this from Amazon warehouse returns for about $35, I am very please with cost vs value, my biggest concern is the cancer warning.

Well made and sturdy.

Stool came with assembly required. 20 minutes with simple hand tools (pliers and multi-screwdriver). It is solid and sturdy and sits level. Seat pad is firm enough and cover is fitted well. There are some comments on here about assembly issues, but I experienced none. Some noted that it can be leveled, if necessary, by removing the rubber feet and placing 3/4 inch washers. If you are having problems putting it together, call a friend who is mechanically inclined and give him a couple beers (afterward)! I will be buying at least one more of these.

Easy assembly just use your head...

To the negative reviews: The instructions were weird, but honestly if you struggle to put this together it's not the instructions' fault. Yea it's not a Lazy Boy, but you didn't pay for one did you?Super easy to put together, packaging wasn't obnoxious. Don't listen to the negative Nancy reviews.

Sturdy stool, annoying assembly

The stool is very sturdy once you get it together. The cushion is also very firm. The spin is not too loose so you won't find yourself spinning back and forth when you don't want to.The assembly was very annoying, however. It was difficult to line up the poorly machine screw holes, and with very unclear instructions, it was confusing to figure out how to put it together. Most of the screws that you need are packaged in a little baggie as you would expect, but there are a few on the bottom of the seat that you have to unscrew and then reattach, which is not mentioned in the instructions. Furthermore, these screws have recessed heads, when the metal plate that they attach to does not have holes that accommodate such screw heads, so when trying to figure it out, it really seems like those are the wrong screws and the wrong way to attach the seat (shown in picture). This is such a dumb thing to have been overlooked by the designers and would be incredibly simple for them to fix. If I had paid any more for this I would probably be returning it solely on that principal. I plan to go to the hardware store to replace these screws
