Great little storage trunk

My daughter wanted a memory box to hold movie tickets, concert tickets, memorabilia, etc. she wanted it to be large enough to hold quite a bit, but small enough that she could store it under the bed. This trunk is very unique, and has a vintage look and feel to it. It’s much sturdier than I anticipated, and my daughter loved it!

Strong smell of lacquer and leaning heavily into 'decorative' only

This chest is definitely more 'decorative' then functional, that is for sure. It IS super cute, and it came nicely packaged. However, there was a stickiness on the handles and hardware that didn't want to come off my fingers, and the entire chest smelled of lacquer or oil. I had purchased this as a gift for my child because he wanted a lockable, portable, vintage-esque chest, but I had to return it for these reasons. I didn't mess with the lock due to the immediate odor, but I noted that the overall design was lacking in durability. The underside and inside of the arched bottom pieces were very rough, obviously cheap plywood-type material and not even sanded down. It was very light weight too, like if you bumped it too hard, it could break. Overall, a disappointment. It's taught a valuable lesson in self-sufficiency and creativity though, because my son has decided to make his own box now. :)

Well made for a good price

Love this little chest! It was perfect for my project and well made.*Edited to add several months later...this chest is pretty durable! Was in a major car accident and this thing actually managed to stay in one piece with many things around it smashed apart. It was cracked in one spot and I had to replace a hinge that was bent but WOW can it withstand a hit. I did end up reordering a second one because it just wasn't as aesthetically pleasing for my events being patched up but I'm using it for other things now.
