Get Open Box - Don't Pay Full Price

Got this chair to replace a HON Granada. I'm 6'2" and have a very upright posture when I'm at my gaming computer desk. I got this open box for around $75 because it was the least expensive chair that met my criteria:1) Mesh back2) Mesh seat3) 25" seat heightI'm giving this 5 stars because this chair works great for me. But this is HIGHLY SUBJECTIVE. Read on...Pros:- All plastic construction but VERY thick. Like, literally 3/16" (5mm) all pieces.- Color is fantastic- VERY tall. My 5'4" wife is taller in the chair at the highest setting than she is tall lol- Assembly is super easy. 8 screws. All have pre-applied red threadlock- Arm rests are removable via a screw- Tilt lock works well- All plastic/breathable construction. No worries about stains or liquid spills- Height adjust lever feels very crisp and is easy to get exactly where you want itSUBJECTIVELY GOOD/BAD (good for me):- This is a TALL CHAIR! Once installed with roller skate caster wheels (which raise it about 1"), my feet barely touch the ground on the lowest setting. I keep it at about 1/2" above the lowest setting.- Lumbar support is VERY aggressive and non-adjustable. I sit far back in the chair with my butt as far back in the seat as it goes. This forces me into an upright, ergonomic position. I like aggressive lumbar support, not everyone will- THIS IS A FIRM CHAIR! The mesh is grippy and comfortable, but MUCH firmer than a typical foam seat!- Seat is not very big. Again, I like this because I can sit with my bottom all the way at the back of the chair. It's also not very wide so it's a bit compact. I'm 6'2" and 200lbs. If I was 220+, my thighs would contact the hard plastic side rims of the seatNegative:- ONLY adjustments are height, tilt tension, and tilt lock/unlock. NO seat sliding. No lumbar adjustment- Hard plastic seat frame you can definitely feel at times when shifting your weight- I'm questioning the longevity of the mesh seat. Quality seems alright, but will this get stretched out over time? I may update this review after I use this for some time.So I'm quite happy, but I would NOT pay $200+ for this. If you don't have VERY SPECIFIC criteria like me and are willing to buy Amazon Warehouse Returns, I'd steer clear. If you are like me, I'm very happy.Oh, my unit was "Used - Acceptable". The box was pretty beat up. The plastic arm rests has significant scratches to them, which I removed anyway. Looks like previous buyer didn't even assemble it. All hardware and an allen wrench are included, though if yours is missing, it's just (8) M6x1.0 - 25mm screws.

Flatten the curve

It's coming up on the one year anniversary of my purchase of this chair, and I'm very pleased.About a year ago, I purchased this to go with an antique drafting table I'd set up as a hobby work space in my basement. At the time, I was looking for something very affordable, as it would only see occasional use. Little did I know we'd soon be asked to spend the next two weeks working from home to "flatten the curve". Thankfully the product shipped quickly, was packaged very well and was easy to set up, because a couple weeks later that antique drafting table and this chair would become my new office. To my surprise, I'm closing in on a year of flattening the curve, and this chair has held up very well for something I only expected would see occasional use. I've had a bit of a leak in the pneumatic cylinder, but only at the upper end of the stroke. As a result it tends to sink down about an inch from my upper level set point, but it stays firm from there and it's still within a comfortable seating height, so I normally don't notice it.As for comfort, the chair is ergonomically very comfortable with firm back support. My only complaint would be the mesh seating can feel a little rough when you have to sit through long online meetings and decide it's shorts day at "work" that day. Otherwise, I'm very surprise how well the mesh fabric has held up for something in this pricepoint. It feels just as supportive as the first day in my new office, and other that some dust and food crumbs doesn't really show any wear.I may occasionally (every 3 or 4) months tighten the foot ring, but I use it all the time and regularly push off on it to reposition myself. Overall, it's been very sturdy. As we close in on the anniversary of "two weeks to flatten the curve", it looks like I'll be continuing daily use of this chair for some time to come. I expect it to last quite a while yet, but if it failed tomorrow I wouldn't hesitate to order another one.

Great chair with a couple complaints.

Bought this chair as I have nearly debilitating sciatica at times, and I work at a work bench as my office in the garage. Its comfortable and doesn't seem to exasperate the sciatica. I would recommend buying it. My negative feedback (I'm 5 foot 9, and 230 pounds, so take that into consideration for the below):1) It's a little pricey for what it really is. Mostly plastic except for the foot ring and the metal shaft.2) At first the mesh on the seat pan has a swing upward as it approaches the knee, for those that have larger thighs like I do, it may feel that it's pushing your legs up before the knee and back up the bottom of the thigh some. Some may find this uncomfortable, but over a couple weeks the mesh has stretched a bit and I have gotten used to it and it doesn't seem to affect my sciatica.3) It can be a little tricky to get in and out of. You really can't put much weight on the ring.4) Lastly and the largest con for me is, the foot wring will constantly wriggle farther down, so you have to get out of the chair and squat down and try to wriggle it back up after loosening the set screw with black knob. Also the rubber sleeve that makes contact with the metal shaft and the outer area separate, so you have to get those to fully back together. It should be designed to where that does not happen. Either another set screw on the other side to help stay tight, or some for of a locking mechanism. Doing this with sciatica is painful. All in all, nice chair, would recommend. Fix the foot wring from what it's doing though...
