Solid product, gloves are nice addition to kit
I have only had this for a week so can't comment on longevity, but the cylinder has been great so far.Due to a filing cabinet next to my standing desk, I could not lower the desk far enough to be comfortable using it while sitting in my office chair. If I can;t lower the desk, then I will have to raise my butt. The piston that came with the office chair did not go up high enough so I searched for a replacement that was like Goldilocks's porridge - not too low, not too high. The low is a little bit higher than the original which allows me to still have my feet flat on the ground in that position. The final spot is about 75% raised which works perfectly for my setup and I can put my feet on the cross support of my desk. Eventually I may get one of the foot rest rings to install on the chair but for now I don't think I will need it.The cylinder comes with grippy gloves, which keep your hands clean of lube and allow you a good hold when trying to pull out the original cylinder. They weren't enough for my job as the original was held in place very well. I picked up a channel lock wrench at HD and that gave me the grip and leverage to remove the cylinder. The new one slipped right in. Easy install of the new.I'm not really sure what the rings are for that came with the set so I didn't install them. Maybe to keep the cylinder from pushing too far into the seat bottom? No idea.Overall, 10/10. Would buy again.

Good product. Taller than normal.
Easy to install. Note this is taller than most which can be a good thing or a bad thing. Works fine. The parts to help remove the old one are a bit tricky

removal tool may not work for tight fits
The gas lift works great, but the removal tool was not able to get a grip on the old cylinder; too tight. I was able to get it off with a pipe wrench.

Poor product instructions, customer support and mechanics
A product that does not work.Let's start with the instructions which are printed so small that not even a magnifying glass can decipher them. The worst product instructions that I have ever seen. Now, the Mastery Mart website, once you find it because it is not included in the product. There is no customer support or printed instructions for their Gas Cylinder Replacement Kit. Let's move on to the product itself, evidently the supplied ring tool parts are cheap aluminum alloy. After several hours of trying, it could not remove the old cylinder from a Samsonite desk chair.Do not buy this product. I wasted my money on it so take my advice. I wish that I could give it zero stars.

Tool works kinda. . .
The tool works fine if you superglue the parts with the bots to the tube. Otherwise no mater how tight I had it, it slipped on the tube.

Great replacement cylinder
The gas cylinder worked great. It was longer than the original and had a longer travel so it actually improved the functionality of the chair since it now lifts higher (hate chairs that are too low). Pressure is really strong. The extraction tool did not work as expected. I was never able to get the cylinder loose with the extraction rings and actually started to bend the extraction screws. Finally got the old cylinder off by laying the chair on it's side to apply enough leverage with a pipe wrench, but I bought this for the pressure cylinder, not the extraction tool so it's all good.

Reasonably priced
We purchased a "new" chair from a bin store and when we opened the box the cylinder was missing so I ordered this one to give it a try. It fit the chair fine, although it is a little bit tall even in the lowest position, but it still fits under the desk so it is fine. It functions as it should, and came with the cylinder removal tool so in the future when we have chairs that break or the leather or fabric goes bad, we can at least salvage the cylinder for another chair that has a cylinder failure (I have thrown out 2 chairs in the past due to that, before realizing you could just get a replacement). Even with buying this cylinder separately along with the price paid for the chair at the bin store it was still cheaper than the chair sells for normally, so we're still $65 ahead.
