Buy a size up from what you think you need
See below this first review for a post surgery review.Buy a size up from what you think you need. I created some problems for myself by not doing that. I didn't see there was an oversize model available on the Amazon site. I am 6'4" and weigh 215lbs. I thought I had to get the large model which goes up to 6'2" according to Mcombo sizing. But the oversize 3 motor model, the 6160-7177 model goes up to 6'6" and has a 28 inch wide seat as opposed to a 22.8 wide seat on the large size that only goes up to 6'2". These height estimates by Mcombo are optimistic because at 6'4" I am at the limit of the oversize 6'6" model. My heels fit just over the end of the foot rest, which is good because it lets your legs be supported by your calf muscles and takes strain off your knee joints. But a 6'6" person is going to spraul all over even this oversize chair. Also you definitely want the wider seat. The 3 to 4 inches on each side are crucial to put pillows in each side on edge so they stick up over the arms and provide you with forearm and shoulder support at a higher elevation. The extra wide version also lets you move around a bit and find different comfortable body positions within the same chair position. Next you definitely want the 3 motor version because it allows you to move every part of the chair separately; footrest, back angle, head rest for reclining while semi sitting so your neck is supported while you watch tv. Plus it lies flat for sleeping at might. The lift feature is crucial for me, since I will be having bypass surgery and will need to get up and down with leg power only for a while. This chair lifts up so high and puts me in such a good position I can use my legs exclusively to get upI think the leg angle is about 120 to 130 degrees which allows me to get my legs under me at a good open angle to easily get up and down. Getting back into the chair is also good because I can position my tail and back in the chair and gradually let it down back into the sitting position. So that is really good and the crucial reason why I got the chair in the first place. Bypass surgery will weaken my core til my sternum can heal and I will need to be able to move around on my own during that timeNet, net, take the size they say they fit and subtract 2 to 3 inches from their estimate of size fit. That way you are sure to be covered. It is way better to be oversized than stuffed into a chair that is too small, you will just never be able to get comfortable. I find that this oversize is good for me and I am so lucky to have changed my order to the larger size.Next, check pricing. The oversize chair was on special on the Mcombo site for 200 less than on the Amazon site.My only problems are of my own doing because I ordered the large and then cancelled that order after it was shipped. I ordered the oversize chair immediately and it was impossible to contact FedEx to have them send back the large size. They insisted on delivering it and it sat down in my aprtment lobby for 4 days until UPS came to get it. The new oversize model arrived the same day via UPS. Mcombo customer service tried nightly to solve this issue along the way but they were t able to do much. But, net,net UPS took back the old chair and I got the new one set up no problem. Theotors are working flawlessly and I am hopeful this continues. They have a pretty good guarantee so hold on to the boxes in case you have to take it apart and send it back. But so far so good. I really need the chair for my upcoming surgery and I am just glad it got here now so I could set it up to be ready.Post surgery7 days out of the hospital and I reaffirm all my pre surgery comments and add these;- for sure go the larger sizes. You need it to get comfortable, add pillows around you, further cushion your back and make small adjustments- you definitely need a 3 motor model. Minute and small individual head, foot, back adjustments is crucial to mitigate pain of muscles, back being so many days without being able to move-Het most cushioning as possible your back gets tired and stressed after long hours on it ...you need space for addl softness and movement- for sure get the elevation feature to tilt you up and out of the chair. Allows you to get up without undue sterile and get out and walk .Net, net this is a great chair and is holding up well. I highly recommend
