This is a good drawing table

I use this table for my pastel pencil sketches. You need the angled drawing surface to get the correct proportions. I purchased, but do not use the stool, as I have an adjustable office chair that is much more comfortable on my back. The drawing table was easy to assemble and looks great. I feel it is a good value for the money.

Sturdy, visually appealing, functional, and the easiest flat pack I've ever assembled!

I was able to assemble the table by myself in about an hour. The instructions were crystal clear, and all parts including screws and pre-drilled holes aligned perfectly. The stool was equally easy, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the piano stool screw works smoothly, so when seated at the table you can easily swivel to either side to reach supplies and materials.

Table Top Is Not Solid Beech Wood, It's particle Board With Veneer!

I'll update my review of this product once I have had enough time to use it.So I've put the desk together, and I've done tons of these kinds of furniture assemblies in my life - this table was not so easy a task, but there is a video on the product page that is super helpful. I recommend using it along with the manual. The wood used to make this table is Beech, which is an even grain heavy wood, and I expect it to last many years. The table top itself is a very dense, heavy particle board, with a quite nice laminate of some sort.As I was putting this table together I was admiring the quality and durableness of the wood used.Unfortunately, the hardware does not appear to be durable, quality hardware, especially the small screws and the plastic knobs. I wish they had spent a bit more for quality hardware.Thia brings me to the ergonomics of the table. To raise and lower the top, or to change the angle of the top, requires way too much work. Surely a better arrangement could be incorporated.

Too easily scratched…

After receiving a defective product that was damaged and missing parts, we finally got an undamaged one assembled. Placing a framed canvas on the surface caused it to be scratched. The quality of the surface is very low if it scratches Sooo easily.DRAFTING tables need to be made of non scratch/high scratch resistant surfaces. Will it work? For the most part, Yes. Are we disappointed at the lack of quality? Yes.Do we have to figure out a work around for the delicate nature of the surface material? Yes. Should we have to do this? Absolutely not..

Things to be aware of with this p;roduct

This product was the perfect size for where it needed to go (I have a small place). There were some difficulties assembling it. First, it was packaged beautifully and the hardware is very nicely labeled. It could have been better labeled with the hardware packages indicating which hardware goes with the stool and which goes with the board. Instead, you get two packages labeled A, B, C, etc, and hopefully you will know which goes with which. It comes with a screwdriver and the other implement needed to assemble. Problem is, that the holes in the metal hinges do not match the screws! The screws are too big to go through the holes in the metal hinges. Thank goodness I had some other screws at home that I could use that fit the space. I was not about to redrill the metal hinges it came with nor try to repackage the board and manage to get it back to a place to return it. The package would have never fit in my car and very heavy and awkward to lift.Secondly, I had to redrill the holes on the wooden pieces for several of the screws as they would not go in all of the way into the wood without stripping the heads. I was able to do that and even then, it was a snug fit, (I ended up assembling it mostly with my drill and its attachments). Even with my drill, I had problems getting the screws to tighten. The round metal part which tilts the drafting board up and down, I was never able to get the one of the screws and washer into the metal slot to hold it. I don't plan on moving the drawing area at different angles, so it is sturdy the way that I have it with the one screw, in only one of hinges and none in the second hinge. Something to know if you plan on using the drafting table and tilting the drawing surface up and down, The red paint also chips off very easily. It was partially chipped off the corners, sides, etc., when it arrived.I purchased it with the stool thinking I might use it. I don't and use a more comfortable chair instead. So, other than being uncomfortable, I can't really comment on the stool. It does go up and down nicely, however. As far as assembly goes, it wasn't too bad but it took me about 3 hours to put everything together. I did it by myself without help, but it would be faster and probably easier if two people assemble it. I had to hunt for screws that would fit the metal hardware and couldn't go to the store as it was Thanksgiving morning and none would have been open, so that took extra time as well I am 70 years old female and was able to piece it together, so it can be done! All in all, I do really love working on the table (I am back in school taking Landscape Architecture courses) and desperately needed this work surface for my homework. I wish the parts actually fit the hardware that was included and I wish I could figure out how to get that second screw to fit on the tilting mechanism for this board. There are only two hinges that tilt the drawing board, so only having one assembled correctly makes me a wee bit nervous.
