As someone who hates building furniture, this was less frustrating to build!
One of the very few bookshelves that have a solid back rather than a slim piece of cardboard. If those 3-fold cardboard back that most bookshelves have bother you, get this one! The bookshelf itself is sturdy, even for heavy books. The shelves don't bend. The appearance has a slight glossy sheen. The size is great for a medium-sized bookshelf. The only comparable product in the market is IKEA's Billy bookshelf, which at this size with only three tiers is cheaper at roughly 40% of the price. If you don't have an IKEA near you, I'd say this bookshelf is a good value for the money compared to other products on Amazon.

The back panel is aggravating.
The depicted bookcase looks much wider than the actual bookcase. I praised the maker when I put the sides and shelves together. Easy peasy! THEN...when I put the back on, the screw holes didn't match no matter which way I adjusted the back panels. I got it on, but the screws are angled and not flat. Looks pretty nice though and seems sturdy for what I needed. Real nice little tool box with all the screws and tools. Instructions were mostly clear. Can't tell the top from the bottom so I just picked one and put put the skid pads on.

Amazing Precision!
Outstanding Precision! When I separated all the parts & saw ALL the many screws & tiny holes lose to the edges of the wood, I thought I could see the handwriting on the wall - disaster! Misalignments, cheap materials breaking the edges, all things I encountered in other products.NOT SO! AMAZING PRECISION DRILLING! THIS IS A COMPANY TO BUY FROM! Every screw dropped right into place, screwed in easily (REMEMBER NOT TO SCREW DOWN COMPLETELY UNTIL ALL HAVE BEEN STARTED FOR PERFECT ALIGNMENT). I am an 80 year old woman with limited use of my hands & I put this together alone in a couple of hours. I love the color of the wood & satiny feel of the finish. It is not too heavy & I intend to load it with paperback books so will definitely use the straps included to secure to the wall to prevent tipping. Thanks for making a quality product!

In Praise of THIS SHELF and its Thoughtful Manufacturer
I have put together a gajillion shelves and chests and buffets and whatever-have-you in my time. For sure -- at least that many. Or more. Many of them require a rented dumpster for post-construction materials disposal, an 'I will do this if it kills me' attitude, and a ready string of expletives to utilize in between heartening gulps of alcoholic courage as you cobble together the wonky, belligerent object and wallow in your regrets. But I digress... This one gets all my accolades and undying gratitude. Why? A Printed Book of Instructions, glossy paper stock, appropriate sized words, pictures and schematics (in colored ink no less!) with understandable step-by-step guidance, not a copied from a copy from a copy 87 times and therefore blurry/small/illegible INSCRUTABLE scrap of paper frustration which no magnifying glass will correct nor adult beverage brighten my attitude towards. Why else? A Minimum of Packaging Materials, conceived to be a compact, safe and yet easy to handle/dispose of arrangement. Why else else? The shelf was thoughtfully designed and engineered to Actually Fit Together, complete with Properly Drilled Pilot Holes (be still my heart!), Screws that do not Strip (saints be praised!) and Solid Materials, including (hold onto your hat!) Non-Cardboard Backing pieces. This shelf went together like I have done it a gajillion times before -- which I have-- and without a swear word of even the most inoffensive variety. The adult beverage came after in celebration. I may swoooon.....

While they are much smaller than I imagined (my fault for mistaking the measurements for inches instead of cm), they are of great quality so I ended up keeping them. Assembly takes a bit of time due to lots of screws but the booklet it came with it is super easy to understand. It’s clear that a lot of thought went into the packing of the product to make it as simple as possible for the customer. Very much appreciated.
