I would rate the seat cusion as firm, and with the adjustable lumbar support, seems to be good for my posture and my back. I would rate assembly as easy to moderate. Easy if you have a cordless screwdriver, it will go much faster. It helps to leave your hardware packaged and only open each group as needed to avoid confusing the parts. All in all, a very good value.
