everything was fine until the last few steps!
i did not remove any stars for this issue i had because it was my mistake, but i made the mistake due to how CONFUSING the directions were in the manual. When i got to the step of installing the hinges, boy was i struggling trying to figure out which ones went where! After hours i finally figured it out. due to that, my total time assembling this took like 7 hours!I took close up pics of the hinges for those who may need to reference these photos for a better idea of which ones go where. the two doors on the outside of each side uses the curved hinges, #7. and the two on the inside use the flat hinges, #6. Also, there is a screw in the middle of the hinges that can be twisted in either direction to configure the distance of each door from the edges so they sit flush when installed. I hope that helps someone.That aside, this bench/cabinet is wonderful once put togehter. it is sturdy and the cushion on top is very comfortable to rest your booty on. the only thing i would criticize is that due to the spacing between shelves, you cannot fit much in it if the items are too tall. the items should be flat and able to be stacked together, like board games, folded fabrics or smaller nicknacks. of course, you can put shoes in it, but not a whole lot and not any taller boots. you can maximize the size better if you don't install the middle shelves. Even the lip that hangs over the top shelf limits what can be placed into it. I don't think the lip was really necessary. Despite finding a few design flaws that could be improved on, the unit is very customizable. you can install the doors in any configuration you please. you don't even have to attach the two sides together if you want to use them as separated units, you just can't place the included bench on top as it stretches across the length of the entire unit. The doors have a feature that allows it to close slowly so you don't need to worry about slamming them. they come with lights that can be installed but i chose not to use them for this unit. The clean white color also looks very neat in my entryway. overall i would recommend this piece of furniture.

Modern/Farmhouse look
I'm really pleased with the shoe bench. It has a nice farmhouse/modern look to it and fits right into my new apartment decor. It was easy to assemble; took me about 2.5 hours to put together. I suggest looking at the instructions completely before starting out.Plenty of storage for the 3 of us. One thing that was unexpected and VERY welcome was the soft close doors - my two young boys are not tempted to try to slam it shut. I'm also glad that the panels are acrylic rather than glass for the same reason. This bench will hold up well with them sitting down to take off their shoes. Glad to be teaching them to put them away - since there is light colored carpeting and we're getting in the habit of taking off our shoes right as we come in.Bench cover is a basic color that should go with anything and I love that it is removable to wash.I did not add the lights, too much temptation for playing for my little ones, but they look easy enough to attach.

This bench is good quality, the bench is a good size for a child to adult to sit down on and take off and put one shoes.the cushion has a thick cushion that sits nicely on the top of this bench. I love the doors as one is glass with a light and other side is non see through. The doors on this product are very easy to open and close. This product keeps shoes organized and the side with the light you can do a decorative side with lighting and use other side for shoes as you can not see them through door. The light has a good brightness and you can fit so many shoes.This product was easy to build and this product has a nice weight to it and is easy to move around. This product is a good value and would recommend to others due to weight, quality and sturdiness.

It’s a nice shoe rack…
This bench was super easy to put together if you paid attention to the instructions because they’re just diagrams there’s no written instruction… But it is easy to follow along with. I put the doors on and then did not like them so I took them off and I am using the bench as just a shoe rack and I’m happy with it like that however, some of the pieces do not line up 100% so I don’t trust the integrity of the weight capacity It says it can hold as a bench.

Bench arrives very securely packed in sturdy box with foam pieces lining the box. No damage to any of the wood pieces.Assembly requires attention to detail and perhaps a second person for step six.Step six has one half of the unit being balanced on a single board while another piece is attached. If one is not careful, the weight can shift and break the board at its connection point.The two halves connect together which makes it easy to carry up/down stairs before final assembly. For us, it was delivered to the first floor where we built it but then carried each half to the upper level where it will be used in hall.Did not attach the doors for it works better in my home being open. The LED light is a spool that you install yourself. Did not stick in inside the cubby due to lack of outlet where the bench is being positioned in my home.The top cushion is thick and while you know you're sitting on a solid surface, one does not feel like they are sitting on a piece of wood.It looks nice, it helps organize the chaos of shoes and gym bags in our home.$169.99 at time of review seems high for something I have to completely assemble upon receipt plus the lighting is just a stick on LED strip also installed upon build.
