All parts were there, only one type of screw needed, some wooden dowels and a little wrench included. Not many pieces to it. I had a time trying to get the small rails to stay in place while screwing the other leg onto the bench. Not only that, I couldn't get one of them to go all the way in. Then, the bench seat part. With the frame tightened, the bench did not fit. I had to loosen everything to get it to go in, then tighten again. Instructions didnt mention that.Sturdiness: I dont see this lasting long term as a bench. It doesnt feel very sturdy to me. It isnt wobbly but i feel like it would break under too much weight.Ease of use: Its just a shoe rack with a bench. Pretty easy to use.Appearance: it looks nice. I like the color of the wood.Overall, not a bad solution if you need shoe storage, especially for kids. I think with the size, you would get more use out of it for kids shoe storage and a place for them to sit while putting their shoes on.

Sturdy and Attractive!

This is a nice sturdy bench. Assembly was straightforward. A single page illustrated instruction sheet was included. Since the fasteners provided are construction screws, I used a drill/driver for assembly, which I recommend. There were no missing parts so assembly went smoothly. The rattan looking shelf is plastic. The vinyl covered cushion is attractive and looks durable enough. We ordered this as a bench in our mud room/pantry and it fits nicely due its compact size. The padded cushion lid is not hinged so it just lifts off the bench to access the storage area underneath. It is just a little on the short side at 15.5" tall (as opposed to the 16.5" indicated in the add). The seat cushion is closer to 12" deep. I dinged it 1 star for the following: Inaccurate measurement info in the add, no hinges on the lid and exposed screw heads. The screw heads are countersunk, but I think the bench would benefit from having some plastic plugs to cover the heads. Overall as I have indicated, once assembled, the bench is sturdy and sits level on the floor. I think it is fairly priced looking at other similar benches.
