Fantastic, well-crafted Ottoman!

[Update Dec. 2025: After owning this ottoman almost 4 years, I stand by every word of this review. Absolutely still love it! It has held up beautifully and still looks new.]We have had this ottoman over 7 months now and love it as much as the day we got it. It arrived fully assembled; we only had to attach the feet. It is a sturdy piece of furniture, yet light weight and easy to scooch closer to the sofa when needed. Our former ottoman required every ounce of my strength to move! While my kids have outgrown jumping on the furniture, I imagine this ottoman could hold up under the strain of a small child treating it like a trampoline. Our dogs occasionally jump on the ottoman (when they forget they're not supposed to) and have yet to leave any scratches on the fabric!We have used the top of this ottoman as a seat, a game table, a snack table, and a footrest during movie nights. It has two generous storage spaces under the lids -- enough for multiple throws. (I'd guesstimate you could put 4- 6 throw blankets per side.)One of the best features is the "lift top table". It has held up well so far, though my family gets the occasional reminder not to put their full weight on it when the table is engaged -- it just seems like the logical consequence of doing that would damage the hinges. I particularly like that the lids are split, and storage is divided, so you can still keep your feet propped up on one side of the ottoman (or a game board in place) while someone opens the other side to grab a blanket. You could easily store multiple puzzles, games and chess boards on one side, and blankets on the other.In additional to the sturdiness, functionality, and design of this piece, it is a pretty piece of furniture. I love the fabric, and the color matches our space well!

Pull up table is great!

I love this ottoman. It has a large storage area inside, and the one side of it pulls up very easily with barely a touch of your hand, and the same going down back in place. It is very nicely made, and does not look cheap at all. No assembly just screw four legs on and Voila your all done. The fabric is pretty and shiny. it seems like it’s gonna be very easy to wipe off with a damp cloth. It is quite firm which works well for sitting a tray table on it when one side is pulled up to a table or left flat as in picture. I plan to use a soft pillow to make it more comfortable for my feet. I bought it so that I can eat on it, and use my computer. I definitely recommend this product to dress up your living room or den. It’s perfect for me! Great ottoman/coffee table

Quality product with a very nice look. Offers alot of storage while functioning very well as an ottoman. The side that lifts up is a little short. My knees fit under just fine, but my husband’s do not. So if the lift option is important to you be aware of that. (I think you could replace the feet with taller ones pretty easily.)Also if children were opening and closing roughly I’m not sure how well it would hold up.For my purpose, I absolutely love it and it’s easy on the budget!

Nice ottoman overall

We recently purchased a SimpliHome storage ottoman in the red faux leather covering. It looks great in our space and has loads of storage capacity. Assembly was easy - just had to screw on the legs. The reason we give 4 instead of 5 stars is the quality isn’t quite up to par. The ottoman has two lids, one that swings open, and one that pops up (presumably so you can use the lid as a flat surface). I’d prefer both lids just swung open, since the pop up one doesn’t extend up high enough for you to sit on your furniture and have room to fit your legs under the raised lid (see pic). We also found a small hole in the upholstery on one of the lids (see pic). The packing box wasn’t damaged, so this appears to be a manufacturing defect. We contacted the manufacturer, SimpliHome, hoping to be able to get a replacement lid. SimpliHome responded quickly, but were unable to help. They only accept returns if you’ve purchased directly from them; and while they will provide replacement parts (hinges, feet, etc.), the lid is not a part they will replace. We decided to just live with the defect, rather than hassle with returning such an unwieldy item to Amazon. So, overall what we got fits our needs, but the quality is aligned with the bargain price point.

Quality is better than expected for the price, and it's really handy- not just the storage inside, but the ability to use it as a TV tray is great. It's not fine furniture, but you already know that if you're looking here :). The size & height are perfect to put your feet up...not sure I'd set a coffee cup on it though without a tray?
