Used it for a non-recliner project

We have a lift top coffee table that's over 10 years old and the springs snapped. We used these in place of the existing springs as they were the correct measurement (the company who makes the table hasn't made them for over 10 years and didn't have the parts). They worked great! We put them in and the table works normally. The springs are still a little stiff, but with use, they've started to relax enough to allow the table to go completely down. As with anything that has tension or uses springs, use caution. We were careful to pull the entire assembly off before installing the springs in the proper area.

Did the job

Even though these were 1/2" longer than the original springs, they worked. Sent one pair back that was the same length as original. Even though the same length and coil diameter, the springs were made of thicker steel and don't stretch as far. Bought this longer set and still had to use a large pry bar to get them to stretch into place. They work, just be ready to do some serious pulling or buy longer ones. Spring Measurements

These springs were made well but the coating on the hook was a problem to fit it in the holes on the chair. Additionally, the spring we installed eventually broke because it was too short. Measuring is the biggest issue I encountered. Measure according to the manufacturer's specifications and if possible measure an existing spring on your chair.

It is a spring of the dimensions given - but if your looking for a quality spring to replace one in a well made piece of furniture - the gauge of wire is smaller than an original - more wraps on this model and in some pics shows a foam sound dampener - doesn't come with it. Not a deal breaker - but be aware

Fix my pop-up living room dining table

This spring worked perfectively to soften the lift of my living room pop-up table. Just wrap a peice of "string" around the hooked-lose end of the spring, do a couple of wraps around your hand on the other end, PULL the spring to the cam. Done!
